Electrical Design Engineer – Brighouse


Venari Group Ltd is the largest and fastest growing emergency vehicle manufacturer in the UK, specialising in the conversion of Ambulances and Fire Appliances. Employing 130 people across our 160,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space in Goole, Brighouse, and Dagenham, we are revolutionising our industry and making a real difference to our frontline key workers.

We are now continuing in our next phase of growth and are currently looking for the role of Electrical Design Engineer at our Brighouse site.

 

JOB SUMMARY:
In this role you will design, test, document and collaborate full vehicle systems and components for Sales Orders and New Product Developments / Introductions.

 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure completion of Electrical/Electronic designs to meet business objectives
  • Produce supporting documentation, drawings and designation charts
  • Integrate Electrical and Mechanical designs
  • Provide fault-finding assistance to manufacturing
  • EMC and safety testing and recording
  • Provide technical support for customers
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Team and manufacturing to meet quality and cost initiatives working within appropriate legislation
  • Promote continuous improvement approach to design and process
  • Work with suppliers to develop or co-develop effective designs which are practical to produce
  • Work with chassis OEMs to integrate electronics with chassis systems
  • To evolve the Venari approach to electrical engineering & design to be industry leading
  • Co-operate with the Company to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Skills and Experience

As a minimum for this role, you should have the following experience or qualifications:

  • HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering
  • Familiar with project management tools and techniques
  • Solid Works and Vesys knowledge or equivalent
  • You must be self-motivated with good time management skills and highly organised
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate and numerate
  • Qualified to current IEEE regulation
  • Excellent technical drawing skills
  • Experience of drafting to electrical standards
  • Articulate with high attention to detail

 

The hours for this role are 8.45 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday / 8.45 am to 4.00 pm on a Friday.
